After finishing school at Manhattan School of Music as a saxophone major he continued studying sound engineering, and pursued a career in the music industry as a musician, performer and producer in NYC and Europe.
For more than a decade Richard experienced life in Europe, and discovered the art of decorating and creating exquisite surface treatments. For him this new art form became the new music to his senses. He began studying and working in Italy and France with various plaster formulas and techniques.
Once he was sure of his proficiency as a plaster artist, Richard returned to NYC to share his gifts of both music and Florentine Plaster techniques. Soon after arriving he started his own business in the thriving and competitive world of the decorating industry.
He was quickly offered an invitation to be the Colorist and Manager of operations (NYC) with the famous firm Art In Construction. Art In Construction had become masters in the art form technique of “Artisan Plastering”. Projects ranged from celebrity residences to the establishments of major corporations and churches.
